2024 CPWA FALL CONFERENCE – GANDER Image On behalf of the Executive of the Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA) Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter, we would like to extend an invitation to you to participate in the upcoming Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter of Canadian Public Works Association Fall Conference being held at Sinbad’s Hotel & Suites in Gander, NL, October 16-18, 2024. The Province of Newfoundland and Labrador continues to be involved in many exciting developments over the past several years. The province has seen unprecedented growth in the economy.  This growth brings both opportunities and challenges to each and every person in the province. The Public Works and Operations Departments within the Province are one of the highest impacted areas – these are the people, on the ground, that make things happen every day.   These Departments are routinely balancing the high expectations of the public against the resources available to meet these expectations.  It is certainly a very exciting and sometimes taxing time within the Public Works field. The   Newfoundland   and   Labrador   Chapter   is   an   association   of   public   works professionals from all levels of government throughout the province.  The NL Chapter of CPWA also includes several supporting and member companies and suppliers.  These organizations provide consulting   services, technologies, contract   services   and equipment used in all facets of public works.   These include road and street maintenance, snow clearing, solid waste collection and disposal, municipal water and wastewater operations, storm water management, transportation, traffic control, fleet maintenance, building and grounds maintenance and several other related areas. The association strives to promote professionalism in the public works field and provide a network through which members can share and receive useful information. Membership in the association provides an opportunity to meet other public works officials who share common responsibilities and services. The networking, exchange of information, and the emergence of new technologies can help members improve the efficiency and effective operation of any local public works department.   There will be delegates representing many of the Municipalities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. We have planned exciting events, educational sessions and a meet and greet at a venue to TBA.   To reserve a room at the Sinbad’s Hotel & Suites call toll free at 1-800-563-8330 or online at a https://www.steelehotels.com/our-hotels/sinbads-hotel-suites/#sect-overview please forward a copy of this notice to anyone in your organization who may wish to attend this conference.     Register now by using the "Register Now" link and forward the completed registration form to Glen Dollimont at gdollimount@mountpearl.ca, before September 13, 2024.
