Happy National Public Works Week, Canadian Chapter Presidents and Delegates,

Once again, we will be holding a Canadian Public Works Association National Public Works Week (CPWA NPWW) Awards contest.  We encourage your chapter to promote and publicize the contest to your members.

  • Each chapter is responsible for collecting the nominations from within your chapter for the three award categories. Attached is a blank nomination for you can use. Please make certain to provide the address for your chapter contact and the deadline for submission when distributing. Your chapter is responsible for determining the top choices in each of the three categories.  The top choices must be sent to the subcommittee no later than July 1, 2025 (mkditchburn@gmail.com, angela.storey@hamilton.ca, dale.petrun@saskatoon.ca).
  • The subcommittee will review up to three nominations submitted by each chapter and will make their selections no later than July 15.  Recipients will be notified shortly thereafter.
  • The winners will be recognized at the CPWA Luncheon at PWX. At that time, we will present a certificate to a representative in attendance. Headquarters will purchase plaques for the three winners and will send to the agency after PWX.
  • The chapters will coordinate sending press releases regarding the award recipients (headquarters will provide a template).
  • Subcommittee members will coordinate with each chapter the presentation of the award, at agency request.
  • Headquarters will use the nomination information and reach out the winners, as needed, to develop an article for the Reporter.

We encourage your chapter to participate in the CPWA NPWW Awards contest and submit your three finalists by the July 1 deadline.  Should you have any questions, please reach out to subcommittee chair Meryl Heinz (mkditchburn@gmail.com).
